get it now
What should have felt like the hard part (creating and releasing a brand new song) now feels like the easy part as you stare at your beautiful new release on Spotify and wonder if anyone besides your friends and family are ever going to hear it.
You know you should be promoting your new release on social media, but you always feel overwhelmed trying to figure out what you should post and where to release it that you usually end up just mailing it in with the most generic thing you can think of, or just skipping this altogether.
You finally finish your latest song and release it into the wild!
Since 2010, I've released a LOT of content (12 albums, 50+ singles, 200+ videos, 2000+ posts). I love creating content, but at a certain point, it's hard to avoid burnout when you feel like you're on a never-ending hamster wheel of content creation.
I realized I'd been spending the majority of my time creating all these new things I was excited to share with my audience, but hardly any time promoting them beyond their initial release. And on top of that, so much of my content focused on passion projects that didn't drive any real meaningful results in my career beyond vanity metrics.
I knew there had to be a better way to approach all of this in a way that served both my audience AND my own goals, so I took my time to develop a new approach to how I created and released my content.
When you have a clear plan of action and know the purpose behind what you're posting and who exactly you're trying to reach and impact, everything changes.

Introducing...
Define Your Niche
We start out our course by helping you define your own unique musical sound, or what we refer to as Your Musical Niche. This is a very defining characteristics of who you are as a musician, and knowing how to clearly define this helps you create a consistent sound for your audience to keep coming back to enjoy.
We then take things a step further to help you uncover your Interest-Based Niche where we fuse your musical sound and personal brand together in a way that helps you create a deeper connection with your audience.
We also discuss deeper strategies for utilizing cover songs as a way to draw in and build that connection with your audience.
Create Your Brand
In this section we'll dig deep into who you are on a more personal level beyond your music. You'll learn how to thoughtfully curate what categories of content you want to include in your personal brand and how to strategically share who you are in a way that connects with and serves your Ideal Audience.
If this sounds intimidating to all my fellow introverts, don't worry, I've got you. We'll walk through all my tips & tricks to help you do this in a way that gets results but still feels comfortable.
We've got a lot of exercises in our workbook to help you learn what kind of brand image you want to portray, why you want to share your music and what kind of impact you want to have on the people you reach.
Creating a personal brand that's both true to yourself and deeply connects with your audience isn't only fulfilling on a personal level, it's also incredibly important to the success your overall career because this is what will set you uniquely apart from all the other musicians out there in your similar space.
Your Ideal Audience
Now it's time to figure out WHO you're making your music and content for: your Ideal Audience. After you watch the videos and complete the exercises in our workbook from this section, you'll be able to create a thorough profile for who your music and brand are most likely to connect with.
Creating this Ideal Audience Member profile will help you maintain consistency with your music, your brand and your content. It'll also give you a clear target every time you go to release something new (yay to no longer shooting in the dark!).
We also cover how you can use your content to emotionally connect with your Ideal Audience. Your Ideal Audience is out there, you just need the right strategy to help you find and connect with them.
Where to Share
There's no denying that Social Media is an amazing & free way to get in front of and connect with your Ideal Audience, but with so many platforms to choose from (all with vastly different demographics and user-behaviors) it can be really overwhelming to know which platforms you should choose to be active on.
And then there's the algorithms (aka the gatekeepers to social media success). If you don't play into the algorithm with at least some of your content, it's nearly impossible to grow on any of these platforms. The good news is, there are some core characteristics that all of these platforms' algorithms share, and staying up to date with the changes isn't as overwhelming as it sounds, and I'm going to teach you a practical approach to algorithms here.
You can create the best content in the world but if you don't know where or how to release it, it's not going to have the impact it deserves and it won't help you drive results. It's all about approaching this with the right strategy, which is what you'll learn in this section
Content Creation Strategies
To me, this is such a fun part of the process where we really get to be creative and strategize all the different ways to create content that serves and resonates with our Ideal Audience while also helping us expand our reach and drive measurable results in our career.
Content creation can (and should be) a lot of fun, but it can also feel a bit like a puzzle. What type of content should you make? Why are you making it? Will it resonate with your Ideal Audience? How will you measure its success? Should you make short-form or long-form content, or both? What about a Call to Action?! If you don't know the answer to these types of questions when you go to make your content, it's really easy to get overwhelmed and fall into the trap of creating content just for the sake of checking the box on your to-do list, but that's never a great strategy for your content.
In this section you'll learn how to answer all those questions through a system that teaches you how to create goal-oriented content with intention. Now every time you post something new, you'll know exactly why you created it, who it's serving, and what you're looking to get out of it. I also walk you through tons of different content ideas and examples so you'll never be stumped for what to post again.
Release Strategies
Once you've created your content, it's time to release it! But a lot of the time, staying consistent with how often you release your content is a lot easier said than done.
Stockpiling and batch working the right kind of content so you can create a content release calendar to plan and schedule content in advance will make a HUGE (dare I say, life-changing) difference to how you approach your content, and I'll be teaching you all my best tips for how to implement those strategies in this section.
I'm also going to show you a ton of different ways you can repurpose your long-form content into short-form content on a regular basis so you can always get more from what you're creating.
You'll also learn how to create a balanced release strategy for the 4 main types of content (Trending, Evergreen, Relatable, Promotional) from the previous section, along with the Master Content List we created for you so you can easily stay on track and balanced with what you're releasing.
Email & Website
While Social Media is an incredibly powerful tool for getting in front of and attracting your Ideal Audience into your community, it's not always the most effective way to communicate when you have important messages or offerings to share. In fact, some recent studies suggest that less than 6% of your followers on some of these Social Media platforms even see your posts on a regular basis. Yikes!
While it is important to build a presence on Social Media, most musicians completely forget about building an email list at the same time, which leaves them at the mercy of the algorithm (and its constant changes) to reach their audience with important messages. It's still SO important to build an email list and connect with your subscribers on a regular basis, so I walk you through some best practices in this section to get you started in the right direction.
Beyond your email list, your own personal website is also something that Social Media can't replace. In this section I'll show you how to turn your website into an online home that you're proud to invite your audience to.

Beyond sharing proven strategies and best practices for personal branding and content creation, you also get a very in-depth look into my own career. I’m very honest with my personal statistics and opinions, and I feel like that kind of firsthand knowledge from someone who's found success and is still currently working as an artist in this industry is extremely unique and valuable. This kind of experience from a currently working artist isn’t something that I’ve seen offered in any other course.
All of the courses offered through Musician of All Trades are crafted from a decade’s worth of my career knowledge and experiences condensed into concise and organized tutorials to help you reach your goals as fast as possible, and because I’m still working on my own career as an artist, I’m continuing to navigate this ever-changing landscape right alongside you.
I’ve been playing the violin for over 25 years and within the past 12 years I’ve been building my skills and career as an independent musician. Within that time I’ve grown an online audience of over 3 million people, released 11 full-length albums (5 of which charted on the Billboard Charts) and traveled the world touring my own live show all without ever signing with a record label.
I'm still actively working on my own career as an independent artist and love sharing my knowledge and experiences through the Musician of All Trades courses I've built together with my husband (and business partner since 2018), Jarred. We love helping other musicians through the content we teach here!
We want you to feel satisfied with your purchase and if you’ve put in the time and effort to implement the course strategies and find it’s not working for you, we do offer a 30-day refund policy. You can find more details on our refund policy by clicking here.
Once you’re enrolled in the course you have lifetime access to the course materials and can take as long as you want to finish. There's no expiration date so you can go back and rewatch everything as many times as you want, so you can definitely go at your own pace!
Frequently Asked Questions
No, and you won't learn how to run Facebook ads in this course. Our courses focus on helping you build and engage with your audience through organic traffic, which is traffic you don’t pay for. We actually have a really thorough post on our blog all about Facebook ads and what type of musician might be ready to run ads, so I highly encourage you to read through that post HERE because there’s a lot of detailed information there. FB ads can be an incredibly powerful tool for helping the right type of business grow, but there’s a LOT more to running successful FB ads than what people think, and there’s absolutely no "secret formula" that’s going to skyrocket a musician to success with ads.
While I'd love to be able to offer individualized attention, it's unfortunately not something I can fit into my schedule at this point. I'm still very active with my own career as an artist right alongside of you, so I'm constantly spending time experimenting with my own content and business strategies and then sharing those new insights with my students through updated course content. In order to keep the price as low and affordable as possible, no live sessions or one-on-ones are included in this course.
Unfortunately not at this time. We absolutely love helping musicians go even further with their goals, but between running our different businesses and spending time with our growing family, Jarred and I aren't able to dedicate any extra time to consulting at this stage of our lives. We knew we could focus our efforts on individual consulting for a smaller number of people at a higher price point, but instead we wanted to lower the barrier to entry to serve as many independent musicians as we possibly could. So we put all of our knowledge and experiences into creating the best online courses for independent musicians and are able to offer them at a much lower, more affordable price point.
As someone who’s worked as an independent musician for over a decade, I’m very familiar with the incredibly fast pace at which changes happen in this industry. Instead of focusing on individual social media platforms or algorithms (that would go out of date on a daily basis) we focus on teaching you proven branding and marketing tactics to help you build your brand, find your ideal audience, and connect with them in a genuine way through the content you’re sharing. These are the types of classic strategies that should work throughout your career no matter what kinds of changes are happening in the industry, on social media, or whatever else, because they’re founded on really tried and true marketing and branding principles that work across all sorts of different industries and businesses. What we’re doing here in this course is applying those principles to your own career you’re building as a musician. We absolutely do discuss social media and the various algorithms and how they affect your growth on these platforms, but we teach everything in a future-proof way to give you the knowledge and tools you need to keep up with these ever-changing algorithms so you’re prepared to adapt accordingly.
